May 1, 2012: General Strike

Five months after their eviction from City Hall, the Occupy L.A. movement joins the May Day protest downtown to prove that their movement still has momentum.












January 2, 2012: Occupy the Rose Parade

More than a thousand members of Occupy L.A. marched at the end of the Rose Parade on January 2nd to bring their populist message to legions of visiting football fans.

Activist Cindy Sheehan speaks to the crowd that gathered after thousands of Occupiers marched in the Rose Bowl parade. She told the gathering to stop paying their credit cards, stop paying their income tax, and predicts that 2012 is going to be a year of revolution.









Occupy L.A. Day 60: The Morning After

Occupy L.A. members hold a press conference across the street from City Hall the morning after the LAPD raided the Occupy encampment. Mario Brito talks about what happened and what's next for the movement.








Occupy L.A. Day 58: Eviction Notice
L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa gives Occupy L.A. until midnight to leave the downtown encampment and promises a peaceful eviction by the LAPD. As the deadline approaches and the ranks of the occupation swells, the city backs down on it's promise to clear the camp.








Occupy L.A. Day 48: Taking it to the Bank

November 17th was the two-month anniversary of the 99% movement, and Occupy L.A. marks the occasion with a new "settlement" right outside the Bank of America Building.








Occupy L.A. Day 35: Downtown on the Farm
The L.A. Occupiers attempt to start a sustainable garden in their encampment even as the downtown farmers' market continues to be uprooted by the occupation.









Occupy L.A. Day 28: A Visit From The Chief
As tensions rise across the nation between Occupiers and local police forces, Los Angeles Chief Of Police Charlie Beck visits the Occupy L.A. encampment and holds an impromptu news conference.








Occupy L.A. Day 15: On The March

It's Day 15 of the Occupy L.A. Movement, an international day of solidarity with Occupations worldwide. While some protests devolved into violence overseas, the Los Angeles chapter peacefully marches through the financial district downtown.








Occupy L.A. Day 12: City Council Victory
The Franklin Gang was at the City Council meeting on Day 12 for a resolution supporting the Occupy L.A. Movement. Occupiers moved inside City Hall to plead their case for economic justice and to support a measure promoting responsible banking.







Occupy L.A. Day Eight: Gaining Momentum
It's Day Eight of the Occupy L.A. movement, and the Franklin Gang heads downtown to find out how the Occupiers are feeding the masses and getting the message out.









Occupy L.A. Day Four:  A Growing Movement?
